The Beauty in Today.

I encourage you to take a moment and step outside of the four walls that confine your today. Go outside. Go for a drive or a walk. What do you see? Can you feel the kiss of the sun? Do you have goose bumps? Do you smell flowers blooming? Is the sky blue? Is it cloudy and rainy?

Have you not seen how a rainy day gives life to a rainbow, a symbol of His promise? Have you not witnessed firsthand the seasons change and the beauty that springs forth with each new season?

Maybe today feels insurmountable to you. Or, maybe it feels precious. Whatever the case, today is only a shadow. It is a blip on the radar of your life, a mere hash mark on the Lord's timeline for you. You can sit in today, whether it's comfortable or uncomfortable, because He is a present help. He is with you right now. He is with you every. single. day. He is with you in the midst of your worst mistakes, holding your hand through painful trials and tribulations, and smiling broadly as you celebrate the greatest joys of your life. He is with you.

Let His word word affirm you that in all of the earth’s beauty, there is nothing more precious to Him than you. "Now if in this way God clothes the grass—which is here today and thrown into the furnace tomorrow—will He not much more clothe you?” Though things in your life may not look beautiful or the way you expected, rest assured that He is in control. He has promised to make everything beautiful in its time. Just as He is the Creator of the earth and promises to provide for it, He is your Creator and promises to provide for you. Your today is being held in His very capable hands. He is working all things together for the good.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” – Psalm 139:14

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” – Ecclesiastes 11:22

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” – Romans 8:28

“Look at the birds of the air. They do not sow or reap or gather into barns; yet your Father in heaven feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They neither toil nor spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. Now if in this way God clothes the grass—which is here today and thrown into the furnace tomorrow—will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?” – Matthew 6:26-30
